Minister's Message

Christmas Greetings
December 2018

Dear friends

‘Keep your vision strong and steady, and be ready for the Lord.’ Singing the Faith 165, verse 3)

The season of Advent is here - a time of waiting and getting ready for the coming of Jesus Christ. Our home does not look ready for Christmas; no Tree in place; no decorations or cards are up; no presents wrapped;  no special food has been bought! Are your homes ready? Over the coming weeks these things will be done but the question is will this make us truly ready to welcome Jesus Christ?

The preparation I have described is superficial but throughout the year you have prepared to be ready:
When you bring food for the Foodbank or volunteer to help;
When you help organise a meal for those on their own;
When you give to charities like Action for Children or All We Can;
When you share the Christmas Story with family, friend or stranger;
When you reach out to someone who is lonely or ill;
When you stop to think and pray for those in our world who are struggling;
When you love one another …
And the list goes on.

Jesus said, ‘I tell you whenever you did this for one of the least important of these members of my family, you did it for me!’

We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with you here in Stoke - on - Trent.
We wish you a joyous and peace-filled Christmas.
