Foodbank

“A BIG thank you to Trentham Methodist Church for donating 79.45kg of food in March helping to feed the hungry of Stoke-on-Trent.” For those of you who only think in ‘old money’ that is almost 11 stone! Wow!

Jacqueline, our church Foodbank coordinator,  has a message too:
“Yes indeed, thank you for supporting Foodbank! It is so much appreciated and valued. Yet there is an even greater need to continue supporting Foodbank through Covid-19.
‘How can I continue to support Foodbank when the church is not open?’ I hear you say. Well … there is a way … or two ...!
1. You can donate money directly to Foodbank and Foodbank will purchase food on your behalf. This has two benefits - Foodbank is able to take advantage of bulk buying discounts. They can also stock up on food they are so desperately short of and takes out the guesswork of what to donate. That’s a win-win solution!
2. If you prefer to donate food yourself at their warehouse the address is Magdalen Road, Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent, ST3 3HS. It is open Monday to Thursday from 9.00am to 4.00pm. Just walk up to the side door, knock and stand back (2m or in old money 6 feet please). The door will open and a huge smile will greet you as you offer your donation. Walk away with a skip in your step knowing you have made a vital contribution. God bless and stay safe!”
