Covid-19

Unfortunately this week due to an increase in the number of people testing positive to Coronavirus in Stoke-on-Trent and the speed of the transmission, the City has moved from a Medium to High Alert Level. Sadly this means that families cannot meet together indoors but can do so in groups of up to 6 people outdoors. It also means the earlier closure of many pubs and restaurants in the area. These measures are necessary to help reduce the number of positive cases and reduce the risk of further transmission in the area. As a Church we continue to hold all those affected by Coronavirus in the City, the United Kingdom and worldwide in our thoughts and prayers. We continue to pray for the production of a safe vaccine that will help reduce the spread of the virus and enable us to again join together safely with our family and friends. We give thanks for the work of those providing care to others and the many services that work to help keep us safe and secure.
Despite the increase in alert level places of worship can remain open providing they follow a range of Covid Secure measures. At Trentham Methodist Church we have completed a risk assessment and implemented a series of actions to ensure worship remains safe. Services continue but are shorter and limited  to a maximum congregation of 25 who are seated socially distanced in household groups. Face Coverings are required and hand gel is in use. All those attending must register to comply with Test and Trace guidance and anyone with symptoms is advised to remain at home in self isolation and arrange prompt testing. Whilst these and other measures create a different approach to worship, they enable us to meet safely together in praise and prayer and allow us to unite as a Church at the centre of our local community.
With every blessing
